Mike started in his garage and built MDC into the biggest independent shop in the county. He's the only person around here who'll rebuild a transmission — every other shop ships them out or sells you a new one. He's a Jasper Master Technician, which means Jasper Engines & Transmissions trusts him to install their rebuilds AND pays him direct labor on warranty claims.
The story we tell about Mike: A customer came in last year with a 10-speed Ford F-150 transmission (the 10R80). Four other shops in town had refused the job because the architecture is too new. The 4th shop wanted to put a new $10,000 transmission in it. Mike had just flown out to Vegas for a class on the 10R80 — diagnosed it, fixed it, and the customer drove out for $1,400. Saved $9,000. That's why we send Mike to school every year. Training compounds.
Irwin's the guy who can pull a differential apart, set the ring-and-pinion pattern by feel, and put it back so it whines NEVER. He's one of the very few techs in the county who can rebuild a front OR rear differential. He's also our go-to on heavy truck work — 1-tons, dump trucks, fleet vehicles.
His toolbox is always perfect. His bay is always clean. He's a meticulous mechanic in the old-school sense — he wants to fix it right, not just fix it.
Jordan's our HP Tuners specialist. If you've got a tuned truck, a built engine, a swapped trans needing TCM reflash — Jordan's the one who makes the computer match the build. Nobody else in town does this work at his level.
He's the tech behind the C. Tex 5-star review (the 2021 F-150 10R80 we got back on the road in a day after Ford ran him in circles for three weeks). The customer specifically mentioned how Jordan's enthusiasm for the 10R80 made the difference.
Deb runs the front. She takes the appointments, talks to insurance and warranty companies, writes the story-format invoices we're known for, and handles every approval call. She's the reason we've won every court case for 30 years — her documentation is bulletproof.
When you call MDC and someone picks up, that's Deb (or David). When you get a text update at 9 PM on a Friday — that's Deb. She's also a licensed Georgia REALTOR; her real-estate business runs parallel to the shop.
David's the service writer who works with Deb to assign every job to the right tech. He's the one who walks back to the bays to ask "where are we on this?" so you don't have to. He tracks every minute of labor across all 8 bays.

Every technician on this crew attends 4 schools per year — minimum. That's how we know the 10R80, the ZF 8HP, the GM 10L90, the Aisin AS69RC, and every other modern transmission that other shops are scared of. Mike's recent Vegas trip on the 10R80 paid for itself on his FIRST customer. We don't stop learning.
